Japan increases cap on residency visa fees to $630

Funds to be used for language education, integration measures for foreign residents

TOKYO -- Japan on Friday raised the upper limit on fees charged to foreign nationals when they change or renew their residency status to 100,000 yen ($630) for standard residencies and 300,000 yen for permanent residency.
