Hamas on Thursday warned that the ceasefire agreement in Gaza is at risk of collapse following an escalation in Israeli air strikes this month.
The Palestinian group said at least 20 people were killed over the past two days in a fresh wave of bombardment targeting residential homes.
The statement came after an Israeli air strike hit a building in Gaza City on Wednesday night during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
The strike killed at least 10 people, including two children and two women, according to local media reports.
Israeli media said the attack targeted Ezz al-Din Beik, described as the commander of Hamas’s northern Gaza brigade, and Imad Aslim, described as a deputy commander of the Gaza City brigade.
