Former head of Israel's domestic security council, Giora Eiland, said Iran emerged as the winner of the latest conflict involving the United States and Israel, arguing that both Washington and Tel Aviv now face a difficult strategic situation.
Speaking to Israel’s Channel 12, the Israeli security official said, “Iran won the war, perhaps by a few points, but it is a clear victory.”
Eiland said Iran’s leadership remained intact and had demonstrated resilience throughout the conflict, allowing Tehran to project strength in its dealings with the United States and its allies.
He added that Washington appeared to be in “an evident bind” and suggested that current diplomatic efforts were focused on ending the conflict rather than addressing Iran’s nuclear programme, in what he described as a challenging outcome for both the US and Israel.
