Revised law clears way for investment in subsea cables and data centers

JICT provides public risk capital for long-term projects that are difficult for private companies to finance unsupported.  

TOKYO -- Japan has pushed back the sunset clause for its public-private Japan ICT Fund (JICT) by 10 years to fiscal 2045 after the upper house passed a revised law on Thursday. The move is intended to enable long-term investment in projects such as subsea cables and data centers in Southeast Asia and other overseas markets.
