US Vice President JD Vance says he is working with the Pentagon to determine whether Türkiye has met the legal requirements needed to receive F-35 fighter jets.

"There are certain things that we have to certify have happened that have happened in order to comply with American law," Vance said.

Vance added that the issue largely rests with Congress and ensuring that Türkiye has complied with US legal requirements before any transfer of the aircraft can proceed.

"This is really a congressional thing and ensuring that Turkey has complied with American law so they can get the F-35s," he said.
